The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge to identify the different types of biotic and abiotic degradation of wood, to know the diagnostic methods to identify them, both preventive and curative methods of wood protection, methods of application of wood preservatives and chemical wood modification methods. The course will also deal with the concept of natural durability of wood in the context of the European standard context.
