The course introduces the design profession at role level, sectors of intervention, methodologies, tools, using examples, analysis schemes and exercises, exemplary objects of contemporary design are studied in order to understand their qualifying elements.
Within the course, design applications and exercises are developed to activate individual creativity processes; until the development of the final exercise to define a product concept.

Learning Objectives
Exercise and develop the ability to recognize, evaluate and solve a design problem through critical analysis and the exercise of design synthesis.
Prerequisites
Ability to develop thematic analyses. Appropriate use of technical and artistic language. Freehand or computer drawing techniques to bring the conceived project to life and make it tangible and understandable to a listener. Aptitude for synthesis.
Teaching Methods
Classroom lessons, classroom and home exercises, individual tutoring, guided sector research, individual guided processing. Design exercises, linked to learning by doing methodologies.
Type of Assessment
The exam consists of the presentation and evaluation of the product concept developed during the course, also complete with all the exercises carried out during the semester. Students will have to respond appropriately to the contents of the papers.
